Barbara Lee Jarrett

Barbara Lee Jarrett (78) of Kennett, Missouri, passed from this life on April 27, 2024, at St. Bernards Hospital in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Barbara was born October 31, 1945, in Hornersville, MO, to the late Chester Lee Edwards and Lena Mansfield, both of Hornersville, MO.

Barbara was the matriarch of 5 generations and had the strongest faith a person can have. She enjoyed listening to and singing gospel music. Her strong love, faith in God, and love for family and friends made her her.

She is proceeded in death by both maternal grandparents, both paternal grandparents, a brother Jim Edwards of Hornersville, MO, sister Cletda Darling of Flint, Michigan, sister Frieda Lewallen of Edgeville, SC, husband Jame Arthur Shelton of Kennett, MO, son Cletus Dean Jarrett of Kennet, MO, and one daughter Stephanie Jean Curtright of Caulfield, MO.

Barbara is survived by brother Gail Edwards of Arbyrd, MO, son James Lee Jarrett of Kennett, MO, daughter Tammie Skaggs of Clarkton, MO, 29 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

She leaves behind a 4-generation legacy of people who were taught the meaning of love, honor, strength, and respect. Anyone who walked into her home instantly became a grandchild. She was Grandma to countless people, no matter what age they were. May her soul rest in peace as her spirit walks Heaven’s streets alongside her Savior.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on May 4, 2024, at Emerson Funeral Home. A visitation will precede the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Burial will be private.
