Barbara Hibdon Barnett

Barbara Hibdon Barnett, 77, a native and life-long resident of Jonesboro, was born September 8, 1937 to George Arthur and Glenda Pagan Hibdon. She died Saturday, October 18, 2014 at St. Bernards Medical Center.

Barbara was a graduate of Arkansas State College with a Bachelors degree in Education and was a retired elementary teacher for Brookland Schools. She was a member of Nettleton Church of Christ. Barbara enjoyed arts and crafts, spending time with her "gang" at Chick-Fil-A and at the Jonesboro Senior Citizens Center. She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Derek Barnett.

Survivors include her husband, Verlan"Jabo" Barnett of the home;
2 sons: Terry (Adele) Barnett and David (Debbie) Barnett;
3 grandchildren: Adriane Barnett Duke (Joe), Alex Barnett and Dylan Barnett;
1 great grandson, Dayton Barnett Duke; and
many close friends including a special friend, Glenna Throesch.

A graveside funeral service will be held Monday at 10:00 a.m. in Lorado Cemetery with Jimmy Young officiating. Pallbearers include grandsons Alex Barnett, Dylan Barnett, Joe Duke, Lawrence Fielder, Dr. Rick Tate, Blake Gray and her two sons, Terry and Dave.

There will be no visitation.
