Barbara "Gayle" Harrison

Barbara “Gayle” Woods Sutterfield Harrison, 66 of Jonesboro died Sunday at Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House. Most of her life was spent in Bay before coming to Jonesboro. Gayle was a hairdresser for 30 years who never met a stranger, loved the outdoors, loved and sang country music and was a Baptist.

Gayle is preceded in death by her father, Walter C. Woods; step-father, William Darr; mother, Imogene Dorthea Darr; and brother Walter “Rickey” Woods. Survivors include her husband of 34 years, Buddy Harrison of the home, 2 sons, Michael (Christie) Harrison of Jonesboro; Anthony Sutterfield of Nicholasville, Kentucky and one brother, Wayne (Kathy) Woods of Jonesboro; 9 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at Emerson Funeral Home Wednesday, August 14, 2013 from 9-10 AM with service following at 10:30 at Pine Log Cemetery. Dr. Johnny Hutchison will be officiating.

Pallbearers include David Reed, Jason Belt, Willie Jordan, Jerry Couch, Bill McLaughlin and Bobby Dement. Honorary Pallbearers are Butch Swanner, Doug Warnick, and Mike Walls.
