Barbara K. Custer age 90 of Bloomington, IL formerly of Jonesboro, AR passed away Thursday, January 21, 2010 at 1:09 PM at the Martin Health Center, Bloomington, IL.

A memorial service was 2:00 PM Monday in the Multi-Purpose Room at Westminster Village; Bloomington, IL Rev. Mike McGaughan will officiate. Arrangements are being handled by Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, IL .

The family will receive friends 10-11 AM Wednesday at Emerson Funeral Home, Jonesboro, AR with a graveside service to follow at 11:30 AM Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery, Jonesboro, AR with her son-in-law, Rev. Gordon Gartrell officiating.

Barbara was born December 15, 1919 in Philadelphia, PA the daughter of William Frank and Ethel Mae Moyer Kaesshaefer. She married John Mason Custer, Jr.
on June 6, 1942 at the Reformed Church, Philadelphia, PA. He passed away May 10, 1988.

She is preceded in death by her parents, 1 son, Bill Custer, 1 brother, John Konzelman,
2 sisters, Kay Taylor and Beatrice Ogden.

Barbara was a Registered Nurse. She moved to Bloomington, IL in 1995. She was an avid Bridge Player and enjoyed knitting. Barbara was an active member of many churches and she was a former Sunday School Superintendent and Deacon. She was a school nurse and a delivery room nurse and had worked at a nursing home in Michigan. She was always cheerful and never complained. She will be missed by all who knew her.
