Avanell Hardcastle Baker

GAINESVILLE, GEORGIA - AVANELL HARDCASTLE BAKER, age 94, of Gainesville, Georgia, formerly of Cotton Plant, Arkansas, passed away on Friday, December 12, 2008. She was born August 14, 1914, at Pangburn, Ark., to James Phillip and Josie Ella Davis Hardcastle. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cotton Plant, Arkansas.

She was preceded in death by her husband Issac Talton Baker; parents, James and Josie Hardcastle; sister, Eurlene Hardcastle Sooter; brother, Truman Hardcastle; and granddaughter, Toni Alanna Williams.

Survivors include her sister Lillie Mae Hardcastle Baker Smith of Garland, Texas; son, James Dale Baker and wife, Carolyn of Frisco, Texas; daughter, Mary Sue Baker Williams and husband, Jerry G. of Flowery Branch, Georgia;
grandchildren, Connie Baker of Dallas Texas, James Baker of Alba, Texas and children Tessa, Jessica, and Jesse Baker of Dallas, Texas, Terry Williams Alvar and her husband Ricardo and their children Cameron and Valen of Larchmont, New York, Bryan Williams and wife Erin and their children Claire and Maya of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and many extended family and friends

Family will receive friends at the First Baptist Church in Cotton Plant, Arkansas on Saturday, December 20, 2008 at 12:00 P.M. Funeral is at 1:00 P.M., in the church, Rev. Charles Reeves will officiate. Graveside service will immediately follow in the Cotton Plant Memorial Cemetery, with Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro in charge.
