Austin Ray Russell

Austin Russell, 61, a lifetime resident of Jonesboro, gained his wings on Saturday, February 5 ^th , 2022.  He was born on December 4, 1960, in Trumann to L. B. Russell and Patricia Wise.  He was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.  He retired as Director of Food Services at Arkansas State University. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Donnie Russell and Gary Russell; and sisters, Linda Nelson, Carol Russell Wessel.

Survivors include his daughter, Shaira Rodriguez of Jonesboro; brothers, Wallace Russell of Jonesboro; Kenny Russell and wife Micki of Sitka, Arkansas; sister, Peggy Sartain and husband Bob of Brookland and three grandchildren, Kiannah, Ariannah and Yadier; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will be 10:00 Friday, February 11, 2022, at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church with Rector Kevin Gore officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.  Burial will follow at Nettleton Cemetery with Louis Nelson, Mark Smith, John Carter, Brad Franks, Doug Mathis, and Larry Henson serving as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers are Ryan Rose and  Grace Perry.  Visitation will be from 9:00 until service time at the church.  To sign an online guestbook, go to emersonfuneralhome.com.
