Austin Croom

Austin Croom, 86, of Jonesboro died Thursday January 1, 2015 at the NEA Baptist Hospital. He was born in Strawberry on April 18, 1928 to the late Luther and Donna Highbarger Croom. He had lived in Jonesboro since 1980 and was a machinist for 30 years and also worked for Jonesboro Termite and Pest Control for 25 years. Austin was a member of the Faith Free Will Baptist Church where he was very active being an usher, door greeter and a member of the Master Plan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife LaVonne Croom and son; Michael Croom, 4 sisters and 6 brothers.

Survived by his son; Danny Croom and Daughter; Diana Croom both of Jonesboro.

Brothers; Delbert Croom of Rockford, Illinois and Tommy Croom of St. Ann, Missouri.

4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday January 3, 2015 at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery, with Rev. Kenneth Winningham officiating. Emerson Funeral Home in charge.

There will be no visitation.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Croom, Kevin Gann, Larry Thompson, Earl Stroud, Dennis Smith and Larry Dulaney.

In lieu of flowers, family requests that memorial be made to the Faith Free Will Baptist Church, 1008 Highland Drive, Jonesboro, Arkansas 72401.
