Arcadio Lara Gil, 73, of Jonesboro passed away Friday, December 16, 2022 at St. Bernards Medical Center. He was born December 19, 1948 in Guanajuato, Mexico to the late Antonio Gil and Francisca Lara. Arcadio was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. He worked most of his life as a printer and teacher. Arcadio worked at Arkansas State University for 17 years, he also taught Spanish in Corning for several years. Arcadio enjoyed fishing, hunting, and farming. Most of all, he loved his family, especially his grandchildren. Arcadio never missed a game, an event or birthday party.
In addition to his parents, Arcadio was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Carlos Gil, Procoro Gil, Francisco Gil and 3 sisters, Margarita Gil, Maria De Los Angeles Gil and Micaelina Gil.
Survivors include his 2 daughters, Lara (Hunter) Zirbel of Jonesboro, Jennifer (Jimmy) Laird of Jonesboro; step-son, Bartlee (Leslie) Nance of Bay; 1 brother, Adolfo Gil of Mexico; 4 sisters, Pily Gil, Soledad Gil, Maria Gil, all of Mexico, and Natalia Gil of Chicago; 4 grandchildren, Carson Zirbel, Peyton Zirbel, Tanner Laird, and Dallas Williams, all of Jonesboro; special friend, Kim Pyle of Jonesboro; and a plethora of nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Dr. Archie Mason officiating. Burial will be private.
Visitation will be from 3:00-4:00 p.m. prior to the service.
