Anthony Stroman, 61, of Jonesboro died on July 26, 2014 of natural causes at his residence.
Anthony was born on May 9, 1953 in Columbia, SC, and later moved to Jonesboro to attend college on full scholarship at Arkansas State University where he ran the 440 for the track team. He worked for the Jonesboro Human Development Center and for Delta. He was a hard worker, and he enjoyed painting and spending time with his granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
He is survived by one son, Quinton Stroman of Jonesboro; parents, Thurman and Gussie Jamison; two brothers, Ronnie Jamison and Thurman “Squeaky” Jamison; three sisters, Jacqueline Jamison, Wanda J. Lewis, and Sherry J. Ford all of Columbia, SC; one granddaughter, Aubree Stroman; and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral service will be at 11am Saturday at First Baptist Church on Kitchen Street with Rev. Curtis R. Wilson officiating. Burial will directly follow at Pine Log Cemetery with Emerson Funeral in charge of all arrangements. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Ronnie Bennett, Nick Bennett, Doug McDaniel, Ron Norman, Thomas Webb, and Kendon Smallwood. Honorary pallbearers are Charles Love Richard, Thomas, and David McGough.
