Anthony Wayne Mccann Sr.

Anthony Wayne McCann Sr., 65, of Jonesboro, died at his home on Monday, May 29, 2023.  He had lived in Jonesboro for the past 4 years, moving here from Dickson, Tennessee.  He was born on November 6, 1957 in Hernando, Mississippi, to Alvin and Rose McCann.  He served in the United State Marine Corp for 8 years, and was honorably discharged.  Anthony was a member of the Masonic Lodge for many years. As an avid Gun Collector, he was always working on adding to his collection.  He enjoyed watching television, especially Lord of the Rings.  His most pleasure was brought by being with and learning about the lives of his grandchildren and his great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia McCann; step-daughter, Angela Tidwell; sister, Lynn McCann; brother, Michael McCann and great granddaughter, Aurora McCann.

Survivors include sons, Tony McCann “Jr” and his wife Casey of Jonesboro; Joseph Kelley and wife Lacey of Kentucky; daughters, Misty Walker and husband, Shawn of Imboden, Arkansas; Shannon Iqnatowski and husband, John of North Carolina; Lisa Turner and husband, Keeaf of Dickson, Tennessee; brother, Greg McCann of Texas; and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M., Thursday, June 1, 2023, at Emerson Funeral Home, 1629 E. Nettleton, Jonesboro, Arkansas.  Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., at Taylor Funeral Home, 214 N. Main Street, Dickson, Tennessee on Wednesday, June 7, 2023.  Visitation will be from noon until service time. Burial will be across the street at Union Cemetery immediately following the service with family serving as pallbearers.
