Annetta Marie Sharp

Annetta Marie Sharp, 72, passed from this life Sunday, May 1, 2016 at her home in Jonesboro. She was born December 27, 1943 in Jonesboro to the late Charles and Leotha Kersey. Annetta had lived the last 11 years in Jonesboro after coming from Cherokee Village where she had lived since 1973.

Annetta was an avid supporter of the Girl Scouts, first as a volunteer, then as an employee. She achieved the highest honors in both capacities over a 30 year time span. She retired from GSUSA in 2003, but still maintained her lifetime membership status.
Annetta had also run a successful in home daycare for many years, worked as a toll investigator for Centurytel, and as a clerk for Montgomery Ward during her earlier years. Annetta enjoyed the art of crocheting, but most of her free time was spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren doing crafts, making s'mores, and reading stories. She was a long time member of the Church of Christ.

In addition to Annetta’s parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Bill Kersey.

Annetta is survived by one son, Durane (Tina) Walters of Batesville, three daughters, Debra Walker of O’Fallon, MO, Angee (Craig) Jones of Walnut Ridge, and Seani (David) Gibson of Ash Flat, two brothers, Jerry (Edna) Kersey of Jonesboro and Darrell Kersey of Greer’s Ferry, thirteen grandchildren: Matthew(Taylor) Walker, Jessica(Curtis)Nguyen, Kelley(Rachel) Walters, Tabitha Addison, AllisonWalters, Lauren Jones, Caitlin(Anthony) Oguntimehin, Alyssa Jones, Madison Jones, Melanie Jones, Ashton Gibson, Hannah Gibson, Mallie Gibson; and five great grandchildren: Willa Nguyen, Emma Nguyen, K.J. Addison, Avery Addison, and Benjamin Walters.
A visitation will be from 5-7 pm Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Emerson Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am Thursday, May 5, 2016 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Bill Willard officiating. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Keith Summers, Raymond Sartin, Clayton Kersey, Kelley Walters, Matthew Walker, and Charles Kersey serving as pallbearers.
