After a long struggle with Alzheimer's, Catherine Anne Gruber of Gainesville, FL passed away on
Wednesday, July 12, 2017. She was born on July 5th, 1944 in Jonesboro, AR to Vardaman Bilbo Osborne and Catherine Cathcart Osborne.
Anne graduated from Jonesboro High School and attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, and graduated from Arkansas State University where she received a degree in Education. She was a member of Alpha Omega Pi Sorority, Sigma Omicron. Anne was a teacher of children and an educator of adults. She embraced her religion and was an ardent volunteer, holding positions of president, vice president and treasurer of Officers Wives Clubs, president of Altar Society, and Red Cross volunteer. She was a driven entrepreneur, establishing Ahn's Asian Antiquities Inc. However, she was, above all else, a loving and caring mother.
Anne is survived by Wayne Gruber of Gainesville FL her husband of 50 years; son David (Laura) Gruber of Gainesville, FL; son J Erik Gruber of West Palm Beach, FL; grandchildren Alex and Ashley; sister Susan Loberg of Dallas TX; and nieces, cousins, and numerous other relatives.
Respects can be made at Emerson Funeral Home located at 1629 E Nettleton Ave on Wednesday, July 19th from 6:00-7:30 PM. A funeral mass will be held at Blessed Sacrament Church located at 614 S Church Street on Thursday, July 20th, at 10:00 AM with Msgr. Jack Harris officiating. The burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.
