Anna Marie Mcghee

Anna Marie McGhee was born in Kansas City Missouri January 11, 1943 to Jeannette Hughes and Frank Verbanic. She was daughter to Walter Hughes. She passed away April 3, 2016 in Jonesboro Arkansas. She was Marie to her husband, Richard D. McGhee, and her mother-in-law Golda McGhee; Mom or Mama to her three children, Elizabeth Nelson, William McGhee, and David McGhee, her daughters– in–law Courtney McGhee and Tara Beaty, and son-in-law David Nelson; Grandma to her grandchildren Deborah Nguyen, Matthew Nelson, Hannah Nelson, Ian McGhee, Meaghan Powers, Stephen Powers, Elise McGhee, Erin McGhee, Katie McGhee, and Savannah McGhee; Grammy to her great grandson Gabriel Nguyen. She is also survived by her sister Donna Cobb and two brothers Don and Timothy Hughes. She creatively decorated her home with her artistic talent. . Her beautiful gardens were inside as well as outside her home. Marie would welcome guests with her cooking and provide nutritious food every meal. As wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great grandmother she celebrated every birthday, wedding, graduation, and baptism. She always made someone’s favorite cake or pie. She loved her children with homemade food and beautiful clothes she sewed herself. Traveling the world with her family, she managed to maintain a great sense of humor. With intelligence and wisdom, she fiercely championed her beliefs. Whether chopping weeds or attending a presidential inauguration, she was a beautiful woman.
