Anna Jean Pyle Scott

June 5, 1934 — October 4, 2019

Anna Jean Pyle Scott, 85, of Jonesboro went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 4, 2019 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. Anna Jean was born in Jonesboro on June 5, 1934 to the late Eugene and Gladys Sallee Pyle. Anna Jean was a lifelong resident of Jonesboro and graduated from Jonesboro High School. She was of Christian faith and was a long-time member of Jonesboro Worship Center. She was a faithful believer in our Lord, a prayer warrior, loved gospel music, and gladly shared her faith to all. Following a career as an operator at Southwestern Bell, she became a homemaker and mother. She was an excellent cook, had a most generous heart and opened her home to all.

In addition to her parents, Anna Jean is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Harry Scott Jr., and her brothers, John Wesley Pyle and Nolan Pyle.Survived by her sons, Jim Scott and John Scott (Heather) all of Jonesboro.

Daughters, Libby Walzer (Kurt), Lynn Teague (Tyrus) and Janet Scott all of Jonesboro.

Grandchildren, Brett Walzer (Katie), Bryce Walzer (Ella), Jake Scott, Luke Scott, Blake Walzer, Ty Teague, Anna Teague, Katherine Sparrow-Scott, Abigail Scott and Allison Scott and one great-granddaughter, Finley Kate Walzer.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 7, 2019, in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Gary Clowers officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge.

Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 6, 2019, At Emerson Funeral Home.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Pat Swan, her faithful caregiver, Dr. Corey Diamond, the employees of Community Compassion Center of Jonesboro, Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House who lovingly cared for their mother.
