Anna B. Holeman, 95, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Tuesday, May 28, 2019. She was born in Big Cabin, Oklahoma on January 26, 1924. Anna graduated from Arkansas State University with Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics and taught math at Gosnell Junior High School. She enjoyed many things in life like math, poetry, genealogy, and bird watching. However, Anna had a lifelong passion for preserving the Blue Bird habitation and population. Anna is preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Holeman Sr.; son, Robert Holeman Jr.; and parents, Hugh and Velma Stuart.
Anna is survived by her son, Richard Holeman (Debbie) of Jonesboro; daughters, Joanne McCracken (Mark) of Fayetteville, Ilo Jones of Helena, Montana, Rebecca Riley of Jonesboro, and Rita Hicks (Eddie) of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Valerie Kinion, Stephanie Gillette (Robert), Grant McCracken (Rachel), Angela Fleming, Juliette Jones, JoAnn Cunningham-Herman, Larry Lewis Riley (Alecia), Aaron James Riley, Chase Holeman (Brittany), Alex Holeman, Hailie Allen, Levi Hicks, Anthony Hicks, and Kim Smith. Anna also leaves behind several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Special thanks to Gertie Lackey who was her longtime compassionate caregiver and Home Instead sitters who all helped take wonderful care of our Mom.
Mom was fortunate to be under the care of Dr. Mark Wood and staff who we thank with all our hearts for the concern, compassion and wonderful care you gave her.
