Ann Smith

Anna Belle Smith, 86 of Belvidere, IL passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, July 8, 2015 at the Bickford House in Rockford after a lingering illness. Anna Belle was born December 2, 1928 in Bay, AR the daughter of Samuel and Malinda Ollie (Ladd) Wilkerson. She married H. Dewon Smith on August 12, 1948 in Bono, AR. Anna was crowned “Miss Bay” in 1948; after a satisfying working career, she retired from Elco Industries. Anna Belle was a member of Belvidere Church of Christ and the Blackhawk Camping Club.

Anna Belle is loved and will be missed by her daughter, Sharee (Larry) Burks of Jonesboro, AR; son in-law, Danny Simpson of Belvidere, IL; grandchildren, Tracy (Mark Rarig) Simpson, Monica (Michael) Simon, Marcus (Lisa) Simpson, Jennifer Casey, Greg Burks, Matt (Traci) Burks and 15 great-grandchildren. Anna Belle is preceded in death by her parents; husband, H. Dewon Smith and daughter, Dianne Simpson.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, July 11, 2015 in Belvidere Church of Christ, 1771 5th Avenue, Belvidere, IL and from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, July 13, 2015 in Emerson Funeral Home, 1629 Nettleton Avenue, Jonesboro, AR 72401. Her graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2015 in Nettleton Cemetery, Jonesboro.
