Anita Louise Yarbrough, 94, of Jonesboro, died peacefully, Sunday, August 2, 2026, at NEA Baptist Hospital with her family by her side. She was born April 10, 1932 to Donald and Wilma Falls Griffin.

A native and life-long resident of Jonesboro, Anita was a 1950 graduate of Valley View High School. She played basketball for the Blazers. She was a homemaker and worked at Mercantile Bank of Jonesboro before having children. She was owner of Central Dealerships and Yarbrough Farms with her husband, Doyle Yarbrough.

Anita was a member of Christian Valley Christian Church where she served as secretary/treasurer for fifty years. She was a faithful member of Christian Women’s Fellowship and worked in Vacation Bible School. She was also a member of the Valley View Extension Homemakers Club.

In addition to her parents, Anita was preceded in death by two brothers Charles Griffin and Don Griffin; three sisters, Ollie Ann Hall, Inez Salmons, Jane Turney, and son-in-law, Tony Parish.

Survivors include her husband of 74 years, Doyle “Pete” Yarbrough of the home; son, Ken Yarbrough of Jonesboro; daughter, Susie Parish, of Jonesboro; grandsons, Jay (Sara) Yarbrough, and Cody Parish, both of Jonesboro; granddaughters, Kendall (Zach) Gartman, and Cady Parish, both of Jonesboro; six great-grandsons, Drew Gartman, Quinn Gartman, Kye Gartman, Major Gartman, Lane Parish, Stetson Parish; three great-granddaughters, Hayden Gartman, Nora Yarbrough, Mia McMasters; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 5 at 10:00 a.m. at Emerson Funeral Home, in Jonesboro. Burial will follow at McDaniel Cemetery. Brother Hayes Howell will officiate. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 4, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Active pallbearers will be Jay Yarbrough, Cody Parish, Zach Gartman, Ervin Wright, Stan Salmons, Dr. Nathan Turney, Blake Griffin, Anthony Bracy, and Steve Griffin. Honorary pallbearers include Central Dealership Employees, Pat & Carolyn James, Jim Gillis, Glen Gillis, and Anita’s caregivers: Diane Minton, Betty Glidewell, Sherry Trotter, Sharron Weir, Linda Martin, Pam Woodard, Laura Tribble, Patsy Hall, Bobbie Duryee and Cierra Fletcher.
