Anita Brewer Stowers, 72, of Jonesboro passed away Friday evening at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock.
Mrs. Stowers was born September 13, 1938 at Hollywood, Missouri and had lived in Jonesboro since 1979, when she moved from Birmingham, Alabama, where she was a very successful realtor.
She grew up in Jonesboro graduating from Jonesboro High School in 1956, where she was a majorette.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Agnes M. and Joe R. Brewer Sr. of Jonesboro.
She is survived by her husband of thirty years, Hubert A. Stowers of the home. One Son, Charles South Jr. of Marathon, Florida. Two daughters, Angela South (Danny) Draper of Opelika, Alabama and Joni South (Bill) Hutchinson of Madison, Mississippi. One sister, Brenda (David) Poynor of Jonesboro. One brother, Joe R. (Joann) Brewer Jr. of Charleston, South Carolina. In addition, Anita is survived by six grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, aunts, uncles, cousins, her beloved dog Maggie and many good friends.
Visitation will be from 5-7:00 P.M. February 20,2011 at Emerson Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Cass Ledbetter officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.
