Andre Tyrone McCray, 47, of Jonesboro, passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at St. Bernards Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. Born on May 1, 1977, in Osceola, Arkansas, to Percy McCray and Joanne Waterford, Andre had called Jonesboro home for the past 16 years after moving from Blytheville. He was of the Baptist faith and found great joy in cooking and grilling. Andre was a passionate football fan, but above all, he adored his children and cherished spending time with family and friends, especially enjoying conversations with his mother. Known for his generous spirit, Andre was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back.

He is preceded in death by his father, Percy McCray; his stepfather, Howard Waterford; his daughter, Tyrianna McCray; his brother, Percy McCray Jr.; and his maternal grandparents, Mattie B. Hudson and John Hudson.

Andre leaves behind his mother, Joanne Waterford of Jonesboro; his devoted wife of six years, Jessica McCray of the home; five sons: Andre McCray Jr., Xzavier McCray (Jamara Walker), Jdarius McCray, Silas McCray, and Jaxon Perry all of Jonesboro; four daughters: Kaylei Perry (Cole Miller), Arianna McCray, Jazlynn McCray, and Elissa McCray all of Jonesboro. He is also survived by his brothers: Michael (Crystal) Hudson of Blytheville, Anthony (Tashonna) Hudson Lexington, KY, and D'Shawn McCray of California; and his sisters: Allison (Aaron) Robinson of Jonesboro, Sheryl (Demetrius) Johnson of Wichita, KS, Consqualo (Rondell) Edwards of Wichita, KS, Nireeca (Max) Mazile of Atlanta, GA, and Annabella McCray of California; and two granddaughters, J’ream Perry and Journee Perry both of Jonesboro.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be private.
