Alvin B. Allen, 82, of Jonesboro, died Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at his home. He had lived in Jonesboro for the past 39 years, moving here from Hickory ridge. He was born in Wynne, Arkansas on September 4, 1942, to Russell and Villa Allen. He was of the Baptist belief. He had several hobbies, but his favorites were hunting, boating and camping. Music was always a joy to listen to, and everybody knew his favorite song was Make the World Go Away by Eddie Arnold. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and one granddaughter.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Sarah Allen, of the home; sons, Charles Allen and wife Andrea of McCrory; Lynn Hon and wife Leah; daughters, Renee Emerson; Amanda Hon all of Jonesboro; sister, Jimmie Lee Snowden of Hot Springs Village; seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be from 9:00 until service time. The burial will be private.
