Alvaro Chambers

July 15, 1916 — November 25, 2007

Alvaro Chambers, 91, of Jonesboro, died Sunday morning at her home. Born in Hillside, Kentucky to Henry Thomas & Eva Hack Hogan, she had lived in Jonesboro since 1961. She was a homemaker and was a very active member of First Baptist Church in Jonesboro.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Joe Chambers; daughters, Susie Bowling, Rebecca Lynne Stark, both of Jonesboro; brothers, H.T. Hogan, Jr., Hillsdale, IN, Richard Hogan, Kentwood Michigan; sisters, Juanita Stremming, Bicknell, IN, Willene Yagle, Betty Jo Jeffris, both of Indianapolis, IN, Henrietta Eldridge, Princeton, KY; 6 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild and 1 great grandchild soon to arrive.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday morning at 11:00 a.m. at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Dr. Bruce Tippit officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery. Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be held Tuesday morning from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
