Alpha Mae Marshall, 83, of rural Lake City, died Friday at Lakeside Nursing Center in Lake City.
Born in Leslie, Arkansas, Alpha Mae lived in Big Flat before moving to the Dixie area in 1957. She was a homemaker and a member of the Dixie Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting and was preceded in death by her husband, Simpson Thomas Marshall, a son, Tommy Marshall, 2 sisters and 3 brothers.
Survivors include 5 daughters and their husbands: Linda Sue and Tommy Davis of Brookland, Vickie and Galen Lawrence of Shugtown, Debra and Tommy Arnold of Paragould, and Ruthie and Curtis Ross and Kathy Marshall all of Lake City;
3 sons and their wives: Mickey and Patty Marshall and Larry Marshall, all of Lake City, and Jerry and Kaye Marshall of Pine Bluff;
3 sisters: Rena Jo Easterly of O’Fallon, Missouri, Judy Passmore of Jonesboro and Alice Ford of Paragould;
3 brothers: Eddie Mize of Murray, Kentucky, Donnie Mize of Lake City, and Andy Mize of Paragould;
11 grandchildren and
19 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 4:30 in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Harold Ray officiating.
A graveside committal service will be held Monday afternoon at 1:00 in Big Flat Cemetery with Tommy Arnold officiating.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held Saturday evening, 5-7, at Emerson Funeral Home.
