Aloha Lee Yawn

January 1, 1932 — May 24, 2009

Aloha Lee Yawn, 77, of Jonesboro, died Sunday morning at Skilcare Nursing Center. She was born in Decatur, Illnois and had lived in Jonesboro since 1971. She was a charter member of Grace Community Church. She enjoyed music and loved singing in the choir. She also loved taking care of her home and family as well as sewing.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Fred G. Yawn; son and daughter-in-law, Layne & Jo Yawn, Jonesboro; her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa & Gary Strickland, Jonesboro; her grandchildren, Brian Yawn, Lindsey Yawn, Emily Walter, Savannah Strickland; and her great grandchildren, Tristin Hornburg and Victoria Walter.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Pastor Nevin Gnagey officiating. Burail will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Active pallbearers will be Robert Box, Max Parker, Don Pausch, Joe McAlister, George Williamson, and Bud Craft.

Visitation will be held Monday evening from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family would like to express their sincere love and thanks to the employees of Skilcare Nursing Center for the wonderful care and love shown to Aloha during her illness.
