Alma Lucille Cole Knott, age 87, of Jonesboro, died Saturday, January 28, 2006, at her daughter’s home in Jonesboro.
A native and life-long resident of Jonesboro, Mrs. Knott was a retired Bookkeeper in private business. She was a long-time member of the Walnut Street Baptist Church where she served as Sunday School teacher and church secretary and bookkeeper.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Thomas Knott; by her parents: John William Henderson Cole and Zilla A. Castleberry Cole; 2 brothers: Fred Cole and John Cole; and by 4 sisters: Jewell Redd, Edith Schwieter, Ernestine Cole and Lois Wallace.
Survivors include:
2 Daughters: Janet Schwoerer of Cordova, Tennessee, and
Beverly White of Jonesboro;
1 Sister: Marion Hayes of Hot Springs;
3 Grandchildren: Scarlet Densmore of Cordova, Tennessee,
Jessica Gillespie of Marion, Arkansas, and
Steven White of Jonesboro;
1 Great Grandson: Parker Densmore of Cordova, Tennessee.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon, January 31, 2006, at 1:30 at Emerson Memorial Chapel in Jonesboro with Curtis Shatley officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery in Jonesboro.
Pallbearers include: Mark Crain, Shawn Densmore, Jeremy Gillespie, Mike Hinson, Bill Graham, and Jim Cole.
Visitation will be held Tuesday afternoon from 12:30 until service time at the funeral home chapel.
