Allen Davis Redden, 58, of Jonesboro passed from this life Monday, September 23, 2019 at his home surrounded by family and friends. He was born to Geraldine Wood Redden Helums and Allen W. Redden in Memphis, TN on June 26, 1961.
Allen resided in Jonesboro since 1999 after coming from his childhood home of West Memphis, Arkansas. He was of the Baptist belief. Allen worked much of his life in the construction industry in numerous trades until his health did not allow. He was an avid Elvis Presley fan. He loved his music and loved to sing karaoke to any song in the Presley library. He was known to many of his friends as “Big Al” because of his larger than life will and determination to live life “his way” much like the words to one of his favorite Elvis versions of “My Way”.
In addition to his father, Allen W. Redden, he is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Wiley Davis Redden and Lutie Ozil Stacy Redden; and maternal grandparents, Lewis Herbert Wood and Carrie Maxine Cox Wood.
Allen is survived by his wife, Angela Green Redden, of the home; mother, Geraldine Wood Redden(Floyd) Helums; daughter, Kristin Redden Larry; step-children, Jeremy (Jackie) Jones and Amanda (Eric) Ivey; three brothers, Paul (Jennifer) Dotson, Timothy (Amy) Redden, and Donald Scott (Angila) Redden; grandchildren, Brandon Larry, Landon Larry, Kassi Larry, Tristin Revelle, Seth McBride, Cheyenne Jones, Chelsea Jones, Logan Ivey, Isaac Ivey, Hunter Ivey.
A visitation will be from 1:30 – 2 pm Friday, September 27, 2019 at Emerson Funeral Home.
A memorial service will follow at 2pm Friday, September 27, 2019 at Emerson Funeral Home with Jim Harrington officiating.
Burial will be private.
