Alla Mae Lantz

June 18, 1946 — October 24, 2013

Alla Mae Lantz, of Jonesboro, was born June 18, 1946 to John Newton Smith and Erma Cannler Smith of Cave City, AR. Her life was made complete on this Earth on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at the age of 67, and is now perfectly completed and healed in and with Jesus Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband of 45 years, James Eugene “Jim” Glenn Lantz. She is survived by her six children; three daughters Trish Chandler and son-in-law Jeff, Sophie Holland and son-in-law Shannon, Becky Burns and son-in-law Danny all of Jonesboro; three sons James David Lantz, Samuel Lantz and daughter-in-law Shannon of Jonesboro, Phillip Lantz of Chicago, IL. The sparkle in her eye was 11 grandchildren; Joshua Lantz, Adam Lantz, Josie Chandler, Legend Chandler, Blake Self, Clay Holland, Jackson Holland, Tyler Burns, Rhett Burns, Suzannah Lantz, and Presley Lantz.

She is also survived by two sisters, Willa Mae “Dude” Runyan and spouse Ellis of Cave City and Jeannie Lindsey and spouse Bill of Cord-Charlotte. She is survived by two brothers, John William Smith and spouse Mary Ann of Batesville and Jerry Mac Smith and spouse Tammy of Cave City.

She was blessed with a large circle of love in a big family who celebrates life as the awesome gift that it is. She had a warm sense of humor and assuring bright blue eyes. She was a devoted wife and mother, fun and supportive memaw, a trusted mother-in-law, special daughter, and very loved sister and friend. She loved her second family –her friends and co-workers at Walmart on Parker Road in Jonesboro and her church family at Christian Life Fellowship of Jonesboro. She responded in love to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and believed in the friendship, comfort and Love of God. Her courage and devotion to family left us all with the gift of an example of true and loving service. She will be incredibly missed.

Funeral services will be Monday, October 28, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Jeff Chandler and John Miles officiating.

Honorary pallbearers will be the grandsons; Josh Lantz, Adam Lantz, Blake Self, Tyler Burns, Rhett Burns, Legend Chandler, Clay Holland and Jackson Holland. Visitation will be Sunday, October 27, 2013 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Emerson Memorial Chapel.
