Aline Dunn Hanley, age 90, of Jonesboro, passed from this life on Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.
Born in the Pitts community near Cash, Aline lived much of her life in Jonesboro. Aline was a long-time member of Nettleton Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher for about 60 years teaching all age groups from the youngest to the senior adult classes.
Aline was a graduate of Nettleton High School and was a member and past president of NEA Medical Center Auxiliary with several thousand hours of volunteer time. Aline was a member of Forest Home Extension Homemakers Club and was a poll worker in the Craighead County voting precincts. She was an avid reader and enjoyed collecting Precious Moments figurines. Aline also enjoyed bird watching and working in her flower garden.
The family wishes to extend deepest appreciation to Mattie Russell for the excellent loving care given to Aline for many years.
Aline was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Stella Ann McGowan Dunn; her husband former police chief James "Jim" Hanley; 3 sisters: Vietta Chatman, Emma Lou Bennett and Jewell Dunn; 2 brothers: infant boy Dunn and Donald Dunn; and a step daughter, Rae Hanley Smith.
Survivors include 2 sons and their wives: Dewey L. and Vickey Morgan of Houston, Texas, and Lorin F. and Cynthia Morgan of Osceola;
1 step son, James R. Hanley of Morgan, Louisiana;
2 step daughters and their husbands: Jane and Ray Bahr of Manchester, Missouri and
Dr. Pat and Ken Peterson of San Francisco;
1 brother and his wife: Jimmy and Cindy Dunn of Lancaster, Pennsylvania;
2 sisters and husband: Joyce Gentry of Jonesboro, and Deanna and David Morgan of Clarksville;
10 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. Friday in Emerson Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday in Nettleton Baptist Church with grandson Rev. Chad Morgan and pastor Rev. Stan Ballard officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers include:Brent Bennett, Jonathan Morgan, Bailey Morgan, Brady Morgan, Tripp Ephlin and Gerald Barker.
