Alice Roberta Samuels
January 20, 1928 - May 27, 2019
Alice was born in Marked Tree, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Eleanor and Roy Patterson, her loving husband, Donald Lee Samuels of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and son, Dan Lee Samuels of Jonesboro, Arkansas.
Alice began her career as an Assistant Librarian in Caruthersville, Missouri. She later became a Shoe Model for Wolverine Shoe Company and went on to become an Expediter. She retired from the city of Jonesboro, Arkansas after 24 years of service.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Dr. Tom and Sandi Hollingsworth of Spiro, Oklahoma, granddaughter and husband, Kelli and Scott Nelmark or Norman, Oklahoma, grandson, Michael Samuels of Paragould, Arkansas, great granddaughter, Stephanie Nelmark of Norman, Oklahoma, and great grandson, Lucas Nelmark of Springfield, Missouri, great granddaughter, Kati Nelmark, great grandson, Tyler Samuels of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and great great grandsons, Haedyn and Gabe Nelmark of Norman, Oklahoma.
Alice was an avid speed reader and gardener. She loved being with “her girls” and talking with her grandson. She served as Vice-President and President for the Residents Council at Sequoyah Manor in Sallisaw, Oklahoma.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to Sequoyah Manor Nursing Home who do an astounding job providing services for our loved ones and to the Northeastern Sequoyah Hospice, both of Sallisaw, Oklahoma.
Burial will be in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
