Alfred E “Buck” Barnhill Sr. of Dixie, Arkansas passed away on Monday November 9, 2009. He was born February 16, 1932 in Temple, Texas. Buck farmed for many years in the Bay area and retired as a truck driver for Ozark Motor Lines. He was a member of Trumann Lodge 693 and Arkansas Scottish Rite and served as a Boy Scout Master for many years. He was a Christian and attended Pine Log United Methodist Church.
Mr. Barnhill is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jo Anne Barnhill, one daughter, Beth Holmes (St.Louis, Missouri), three sons, A.E. “Ed” Barnhill, Jr. (Jonesboro), Bill Barnhill (Trumann), and Shawn Barnhill (Dixie). He is also survived by a grandson he helped raise, Billy Barnhill (Jonesboro). Mr. Barnhill also leaves behind six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and two beloved sisters, Geraldine Harrell and Linda McCarty (Elizabeth City, North Carolina).
Visitation will be at Emerson Funeral Home, Tuesday, November 10th from 5-7 pm. Graveside services will be held at Jonesboro Memorial Park on Wednesday, November 11th at 10 am officiated by Reverend Billy Barnhill and assisted by Reverend Herschel Richardson.
Pallbearers are Jerrod Barnhill, Dana Barnhill, Cy Stoltz, Mike Damron, Lynn Price and Dennis Price. Honorary Pallbearers are Jay Price, Wayne Wileman, W.L. Cornwell, Howard Headrick, Larry Stanley, Jim Moon Jr., Cody Barnhill, and Chelsea Barnhill Damron.
