Alberta Kelly, 98, of Jonesboro died Friday January 16, 2015 at St. Bernard’s Medical Center. She was born in Greenfield, Indiana on July 24, 1916 to the late Bert and Cleyo Breese Kimmick. She had lived in Jonesboro since 1972, moving here from Indiana. Alberta was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; Kenneth Kelly and one sister; Elizabeth Shore.
She thoroughly enjoyed her many family activities and being with friends and neighbors. She was also a lifelong sports enthusiast especially when her grandchildren or the Cardinals were involved. She was also very appreciative for the kindness extended by her many care givers.
Survived by her son; Kent Kelly and wife (Bonnie) of Jonesboro.
Two grandchildren; Brian Kelly (Michelle) of Jonesboro and Kim Laffoon (Greg) of Searcy.
Four great-grandchildren; Charla Hart (Jeff), Kyle Kelly (Meredith), Clint Simpson and Trace Laffoon.
Three great-great-grandchildren; Acelen Hart, Tripp Hart and Phoenix Kelly.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday January 21, 2015 in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Patty Soward officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until the 2:00 P.M. service time on Wednesday January 21, 2015.
Pallbearers will be; Brian Kelly, Jeff Hart, Roger Rose, Kyle Kelly, Clint Simpson and Trace Laffoon.
For lasting memorials, the family suggests memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 801 S. Main Jonesboro, Arkansas or to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
