Albert Turner , 79, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Tuesday, May 3, 2016. He was born in Jonesboro on July 1, 1936 to the late Fergus Turner and Alvah Harrison. Before David’s eye sight deteriorated he enjoyed traveling and camping. He also enjoyed gospel music, the Bible, and witnessing for the Lord. David supported many causes including the Veterans Memorial, Law Enforcement Memorial and St. Jude. In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by his brother, Fergus Turner Jr. , Dee Troy Turner, Robert Turner, and Alfred ‘Buster’ Turner; sisters, Althea Bahus and Charlene Duncan; and one grandson, Mark Turner.
David (Albert) is survived by his sons, Mike Turner (Kaye), Daryl Turner (Ruth), and Chris Weber Cauny; daughters, Terri Turner and Erin Cannon (Doug); two brothers, Lee Roy Turner and Jerry Turner; and one sister, Anne Johansen; grandchildren, Michael Turner, Ray Stapler (Trish), Heather Stapler Stroud (Jerry), Summer Stapler Wilson (Edward), Cutler Cannon, Boone Cannon, Maleigha Cook, Natasha Benefield, Ben Light and Carla Ashabranner; and great-grandchildren, Samantha Stapler, Stephen Stapler, Bradley Stapler, Zach Knapp, Skyla Knapp, Kenzie Stroud, Chase Wilson, Cohen Wilson, Jessie Kroeger, Callie Cook and Nolan Ashabranner.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Emerson Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery with David’s grandchildren acting as pallbearers. The visitation will be from 5:00–7:00 p.m. on Friday at Emerson Funeral Home.
