Albert E. Qualls

Albert E Qualls, 79, lifelong resident of Jonesboro AR died Saturday, 04/18/2009 at his home of natural causes. Albert, born in Hardin, TN on 05/20/1929, lived a good life, as Dad, brother, Boss, grandpaw and golfer. He was a member of Central Baptist Church of Jonesboro.

He is survived by his wife, Lenora S. Qualls, sons, their wives, and children, Albert David and Amy Qualls of Cary, North Carolina, daughters Terri Marie and Jeremy Jordan of Oklahoma City OK, and Emily Qualls of Cary North Carolina. Walter Daniel "Danny" and Lisa Qualls, daughter and son Hunter Brooke and Tyler Cordell of Jonesboro, AR. Sister Louis and Jimmy Cobb of Collerville, TN. He is preceeded in Death by his parents, Walter Dee and Ola Corny Qualls, and sisters, Artie Allen, Liz Lovell, Myrtle White, and Emma Barton; brothers Charles Qualls, Herman Qualls, and Lloyd Qualls.

Albert was a U.S. Marines veteran of the Korean War. He was also a retired Major of the 875th Combat Engineers HQ of Jonesboro. He was retired from Arkla Gas (CenterPoint Energy) as Area Manager of Northeast Aransas.

He served in many civic organizations and legislative committees and boards, and was also past-president of MOAA of Northeast Arkansas. He was an avid golfer and Hole-in-One club member of the Jonesboro Country Club. He dwelled on family, loved his nieces and nephews, especially the babies. He will be missed greatly by everyone who knew him.

Visitation will be Monday evening, 04/20/2009, 6:00-8:00 and on Tuesday afternoon from 1:30-2:30 at Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro. The funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 at Emerson Memorial Chapel in Jonesboro with Mike Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Honorary Pallbearers are all his golfing buddies at the Jonesboro Country Club, ya'll know who you are!

Active pallbearers will be Roy Rogers of Black Rock, Ron Newell of Paragould, Mike Lovell of Jonesboro, Buddy Lovell of Marked Tree, Tim Lamb of Jonesboro.
