Alan Reed Henson, 72, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at his home from natural causes. He was born on July 30, 1947 to the late Willie and Ailene Henson in Jonesboro.
Alan graduated from Jonesboro High School and Lettered in Football. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and served during the Vietnam War as a Helicopter Gunner. In his early years, Alan toured night clubs in Mississippi with Bobby Lee Trammel and their band, Arkansas Twist. He started the first Craighead County Bass Association and won several trophies and the Angler of the Year award. Alan retired from General Electric after 30 years of working as a Maintenance Electrician. Alan and his wife, Cindy Lou, are members of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church in Jonesboro. In his free time, Alan enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing. In addition to his parents, Alan is preceded in death by his sister, Jill Flye.
Alan is survived by his wife of 33 years, Cindy Lou Henson; sister, Renee Riggin; and nephew, Henson Flye. Alan also leaves behind his loving beagle, June Bug.
