Ashley Joseph "A.J." Eason, 39, of Jonesboro, passed away Friday, April 1, 2016, at NEA Baptist Medical Center in Jonesboro.
A.J. was born in Jonesboro and lived most of his life in Walnut Ridge. He has lived the last 10 years in the Walcott-Jonesboro area. A.J. was a heavy equipment operator and was of the Free Will Baptist faith. A.J. dearly loved riding motorcycles especially dirt bikes, and enjoyed dancing and playing cards.
Music was very important to A.J. and he enjoyed listening to Lynyrd Skynyrd and Red Hot Chili Pepper songs. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, G.W. Eason and his aunt, Kathy Eason Thomas.
Survivors include his son, Colin (Moore) Eason of Jonesboro;
His mother and step father: Robin and John Burtman of Jonesboro;
His maternal grandmother: Betty Wagoner of Jonesboro;
His aunt and uncle: Crystal and Tim Richmond of Walnut Ridge;
2 Cousins and a sister of the heart: Lauren Richmond of Walnut Ridge and Josh Huff of Portia;
His step maternal grandfather, Junior Wagoner of Strawberry.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Paul Wayne Calkin officiating. Burial will follow in Noble Cemetery near Brookland.
Active pallbearers include Colin Eason, Blake Webbe, Ralph Winters, Josh Huff, Ronald Wagoner and Zach Mullen. Honorary pallbearers include Curtis Pace and Paul E. Calkin.
Visitation will be 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Monday at Emerson Funeral Home.
