Agnes Elizabeth (Betty) Tate, 89, of Jonesboro, born June 20, 1919, in Montevallo, Alabama, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, September 2, 2008, at St. Elizabeth’s Place in Jonesboro.
Mrs. Tate lived in Little Rock before moving to Jonesboro in 1991. She worked several years for City Drug and Royal Pharmacy in Jonesboro and was a member of Central Baptist Church where she was a former member of the Caleb Mountain Climbers. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, U.L. Tate; one son, one daughter, one granddaughter, one sister and 6 brothers.
Survivors include:
2 daughters and sons-in-law: Wanda and Dr. Donald Berry of Jonesboro, and
Peggy and Vincent Furey of Falmouth, Maine;
1 son and daughter-in-law: Terry and Joanne Tate of Houston, Texas;
6 grandchildren: Dr. Michael Berry of Germantown, Tennessee, Daren Berry of Jonesboro, Vincent Furey III of Orlando, Florida, Kristin Graffam of Falmouth, and
Terry Tate, Jr. and Brian Tate, both of Houston; and
10 great grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:00 at Oaklawn Cemetery with Rev. Mike Martin officiating.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 11:00 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home.
