A.B. Scott

A. B. Scott, 92, of Bay, died Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at SkilCare Nursing Center in Jonesboro.

Born in Ruddles, Arkansas, A.B. lived most of his life in the Bay-Lake City area. He was a retired farmer and also worked several years during the winters at Singer in Trumann. A.B. was a long-time member of Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church and a U.S. Army veteran of W.W. II. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan and loved the Arkansas Razorbacks.

A.B. was preceded in death by his wife Joetta Scott, his parents: Thomas and Oma Sutterfield Scott, a brother, S.E. Crews, and four sisters: Evelyn Doty, Fern Conners, Faye McGough and Inez Friend.

Survivors include 3 sons and their wives: Kenny and Pat Scott of Brookland, Donnie and Beth Scott and Ricky Scott, all of Bay;

7 grandchildren: Jason Crocker, Joel Crocker, Shelly Gibson, Jamie Long, Sarah Lynn, William Scott and Rachel Scott; and

6 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10:00 in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jerry Reed and Rev. Heath Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery with military honors by the Craighead County Veterans Honor Guard.

Active pallbearers include Jonathan Bobbitt, Jerry Bobbitt, Barry Ragsdale, Mike McMasters, Mike Barkley and Michael Gibson. J.N. Davis is an honorary pallbearer.

Visitation will be held Friday evening, 6-8, at Emerson Funeral Home.
