R. Keith Sanders

R. Keith Sanders passed away at home in Jonesboro, Arkansas on Sunday June 28, 2015 at the age of 61.

Keith is preceded in death by his father, Woodrow Sanders and his mother, Pauline Sanders, both of Jonesboro, Arkansas.

Keith is survived by his loving wife, Sherry Sanders. He is also survived by his son Christopher C. Sanders (Jennifer) of Jonesboro, step-sons, Chris Weaver of Jonesboro and Jason Weaver of Little Rock, step-daughter, Stacey Brantley (Barry) of Cabot, his brother, Carmack Sanders (Barbara) of Harrisburg, and his sister, Devona Pranger (Don) of Paragould.

Keith is lovingly remembered by his seven grandchildren, Berkeley, Maddox, and Callie Sanders of Jonesboro, Christina Weaver of Jonesboro, Riley Weaver of Little Rock, and Cadence and Averie Counts of Cabot.

Keith was a retired major in the Arkansas National Guard, where he served his country proudly. He owned his own construction company for many years, building many of Jonesboro’s houses. Later, he worked for the city of Jonesboro as the building maintenance supervisor. As Keith said, he has left his mark on the city of Jonesboro, a city that he loved. Keith was a member of Brookland Church of Christ, The Craighead County Historical Society, and The Goldwing Road Riders Association.

The visitation will be held at Emerson Funeral Home located at 1629 E. Nettleton Ave, Jonesboro, Arkansas 72401, on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 p.m.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Emerson Funeral Home Chapel with Lloyd Davis officiating. Pallbearers are Dale Cook, Keith Cooper, Bobby Webb, Larry Jackson, Jerry Austin, and Johnny Glasscock. Honorary Pallbearers include all Jonesboro City Employees. Interment will follow at Nettleton Cemetery on Airport Road.
