Bill Peace

Bill Peace, 72, of Jonesboro, died May 22, 2012 at St. Bernards Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was born in Whitton, Arkansas and had lived in northeast Arkansas his entire life. He moved to Jonesboro 49 years ago when he married his true love, Mary Jane Massanelli Peace. He had worked as a catfishing guide for Three Rivers Guide Service on the lower White River. His accomplishments as a guide have been recognized in the Arkansas Sportsman Magazine. He also worked at Southern Pro Lures, Midwest Rug, and Wholesale Carpet. He was very proud of the fact that he served as a Constable. He had a great passion for fishing and hunting. Bill loved being in the woods and outdoors and cooking breakfast on Sundays. He had many interests and loves in his life, but the greatest was that for his loving wife, children, and grandchildren. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and a veteran of the United States Army.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary Jane Massanelli Peace; his children, Arlie Dean (Annette) Peace, Debbie (Lafe) Roberts, Jeannie (Jeff) Bonds, all of Jonesboro; his grandchildren, Phillip Hout, Jacob Hout, Michael Roberts, Brittany White, Hunter VanHorn, Sophie Bea Bonds, Brooke Bonds, Kristen Ross, Stefanie Russell, Shane Worthington, Tabatha Peace, Tyler Peace; his great grandchildren, Emma Russell, Jace Russell, a great grandson, Owen Worthington to arrive in June, and a great granddaughter , Baby Girl White to arrive in October; and his sisters, Sue White and Gayle Shinault .

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arlie Amos & Eunice Abigail Birdsell Peace; and a great grandson, Mason Ross.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, May 25, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church with Father Jack Vu officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Bill’s grandsons will serve as his pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Jeff Harmon, Brian Rook, Tim Rook, Tony Rook, Keith Rook, and Larry Rook.

Rosary will be Thursday at 5:30 p.m. with visitation to follow 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. all at the funeral home.
