Leland Delaine “Mac” McGregor, 74, of rural Jonesboro, died Sunday, April 14, 2013, at NEA Baptist Medical Center in Jonesboro.
Born in Pontotoc, Mississippi, Mac moved to Memphis in his teens and lived there until moving to Jonesboro in 1974. He was the owner of McGregor Heating and Cooling and was a member of Northside Church of Christ.
Mac enjoyed woodworking and was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Marie Black McGregor, a daughter, Billie Jo McCamey, 2 brothers: Cecil and Jerry McGregor and 2 sisters: Peggy Rodus and Patricia Bryant.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy Carr McGregor of the home;
1 son and daughter-in-law: J.D. and Carolyn McGregor of Jonesboro;
1 daughter and son-in-law: Deborah and Tommy Wheeley of Anna, Texas;
1 sister and her husband, Nell and Paul Parker of Southaven, Mississippi; and
4 grandchildren: Jake Wheeley of Allen, Texas, Brandi McGregor and Dustin McGregor, both of Jonesboro and Dakota McGregor stationed in San Diego with the U.S. Marines.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10:00 in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Dick Blackford and Ray Keller officiating. Burial will follow at Herndon Cemetery.
Active pallbearers include: Trent Doty, Mark McGregor, James McJunkins, Terry Jones, Robert Jones, and Jeff Long.
Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, 6-8, at Emerson Funeral Home.
